Go Away, Whippersnappers!

Surfing with the kids is something I don't ever look forward to. I mean, yeah it's cool to watch sometimes 'cause they're so good these days. Boosting airs, catching every little ripple, they're fearless. But that's the problem, they're so good! And, they have endless energy. For me to compete with the kids for waves pretty much isn't happening. I decided to battle them for waves on Sunday, and had to sleep 10 hours that night to recuperate. Generally nothing ends my session faster than seeing a pack of 15 year olds paddle out except maybe a chum spill from a local fishing boat. But now I'm thinking that something's going wrong here if I'm obviously getting older, but the people around me seem to be getting younger!

What the hell is a whippersnapper anyway? I mean, where'd the word come from? Is that etymology? Sticker I spied in Helsinki, Finland. Helsinki is rad.
