I hope your costume's water proof

Someone once told me that behind every joke is 50% truth. The one thing about Halloween that i'm tired of is that it's kinda lost it's meaning. Instead of dressing up to be scary, people just use the day as an excuse to dress up. And THE most popular costume for the older girls, it seems, is some variation on 'slutty'. A slutty nurse, teacher, student, pirate, angel. Or to flat out 'dress up' as a hooker. It's a mega lame costume theme, especially since every other girl does it. And don't get me wrong, real sluts make the world go 'round. I like them as much as the next dude and i'm not gonna tell a girl to NOT dress that way. But why should it only be on Halloween? I mean, if every joke is 50% truth, the whole slut costume phenomenon is obviously a symptom of a larger social problem. If that's how girls wanna represent themselves, then why not BE the part instead of just acting it out? And i'm not tryin' to take the fun out of Halloween, but please, let's get back into the spirit of being scary and dress up as something other than sexually repressed. Let's at least TRY to be original. Me? I'm gonna be hiding in the front yard tonight, chasing kids off the lawn with a garden hose.
