tables have turned, sorta

My car has been recovered. So stoked. Such a big load off. They say it's in good condition and driveable. Although in my experience, that doesn't mean much coming from the cops. CHP once told me that my truck was ok and not much damaged when it was rolled over and laying on its side in the snow. So 'good condition' is a relative term. Now i'm just concerned as to whether or not my laptop is there. But at least my car's been found. Such a relief, and now I can focus more on enjoying Oz. In Newcastle now, not too much in the way of surf though. Staying at Dougal and Ingrid's a block from the beach, so surf checks are hourly. Back to Sydney tomorrow and off to Auckland Friday. Of note: the art galleries in Oz have been pleasantly surprising. The Brisbane modern art gallery had a video exhibit of Jackie Chan. And the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne had an exhibit on sneakers. Both were cool, different, and modern. SO happy my car's been found. Ok, gotta check surf again.
