Summer Shacks!

To start off, I consumed my share of Jameson last night, and when that was done I took on the Bushmill's, and I DIDN'T call anyone! I'm kinda proud of myself. It's an accomplishment for me. Now that I think about it, I intentionally left my phone at home. Maybe that's called growing wiser? On to the post:

There're a bunch of things in my experience that cannot be replicated and must be enjoyed 1st hand (and i highly recommend everyone to do so). For example: Seeing the stars on a clear night from Hawaii. Driving on the autobahn in Germany. Hearing the snow fall in Tahoe. A Brick Lane curry in London. And there's nothing like summer barrels in California. Opposite of common perception, surfing is a winter activity, 'cause it takes winter storms to generate the waves. Summer time for California surf is notoriously flat. The Beach Boys were full of crap. But on the occasion when the water's warm and waves are in town, summer surf in California can't be beat. My arms are sore 'cause we surfed ourselves out today. We hit up the not-so-secret Black's beach. It was the best conditions I've had at Blacks in years. Water was a great temp and clear. No wind and glassy. Paddling out, I could clearly see down to the sand bottom. And the waves were cracking. I hadn't ever seen so much barrel riding in California before. It seemed like on every other wave people were getting shacked. I imagined I could've been surfing in Tahiti. Seeing 2 hot chicks on the beach in bikinis with Paris Hiton-huge sunglasses on, yapping away on their iPhones slapped me back into reality: California. They were hot, though. (Again, typical California). Big week coming up. ASR is this weekend, so I gotta get my game face and shmooze on. Shout Out Louds have been rockin' my pizzle this week. So many great Swedish bands lately. And I thought they just did Ikea, Volvos, and meatballs.
