Find A Way

In more seriousness, this pic is of Dewey with night vision. I'm less than 3 decades old, and I can name Ian as one of the most influential people in my life. He is dangerously intelligent, with a degree in Mathmatics from W&M, and has a fondness for risk sports, and travel. I have a buddy, Dougal, and I swear you could drop him, naked, in a non-English speaking country, and within 2 days he'd have a job, car, and place to live. That's his skill set. Dewey's skill set is a bit different. He will always find a way. It was Dewey that turned my attention to snowboarding, which led to surfing, and let me crash on his sofa during my first couple visits to Summit County to shred. That was back in 96-97. He was the dude that made me believe that traveling is easy. So then I move to Australia on a whim, then move to Breckenridge with less than $300 in my pocket. Dewey lived up to his ideas, though. He's traveled a lot, especially for an American. He and my other college roommate, Sam, bicycled cross-country from VA beach to Oregon. I did get disallusioned when Ian took a desk job in DC, working for an internet company, and establishing a long-term relationship with some woman. But then he redeemed himself in 1 fell swoop when, out of the blue, he walked away from that life and enlisted in the Navy to become... a fighter jet pilot! The guy who had introduced me to risk sports now took the mother of all risk careers. So on, Christmas Eve, I wanna wish Ian good fortune, and a safe return back to the states. My sofa in Tahoe is always welcome to those that free themselves and find a way.
