Karma Count: 0

At this point, I think i've used up almost all of my good karma*. Sure, i like doing nice things, generally for nice people, but lately, i think i've escaped enough misfortune to put me back at zero. Like NOT getting hit by some 4runner at the tahoe city wye a couple weeks ago. some oncoming 4runner decided to make a left turn INTO me. had i reached my hand out my window, i could have touched the grill. seriously. But fortunately for me, even though the 4runner nearly cornered me into the bridge barrier, the A4 handled the situ like a champ and came out unscathed. And then, today in down town truckee, i pulled around an intersection without coming to "a complete stop" at the sign. Right in front of 2 cops. Nothing happened. Add this to a bunch of fortunate events that i'm not even aware happened, i think it's safe to say my karma meter is near zero. Time to pick up some more hitch hikers, i guess.

I'm no Bob Villa, but check out that snowboard rack I made. Pretty happy with it. It's solid, won't blow away in the wind, holds a bunch of snowboards securely, AND it fits into the back of the A4. How? with the help of 90 degree hinges, and some 270 degree hinges. totally trick.

And yesterday i finally bought my tix to... Indo. Yeah, surfing for 3 weeks in Indo next month. Then taking a couple weeks to cruise around south east asia. That's twice i'm gonna be in asia this year. But definitely excited for Indo. I haven't gone on a proper surf trip since Costa Rica in '03. And now i'm going to the land of the lefts. Warm water. cheap food.

MF Doom, old Prince, and some Sam Cooke have been getting the pizzle play time this week.

* yeah, i know i'm not using the real definition of the concept of karma, where people are responsible for their actions creating past, present, and future results, and in some cases, future lives. this is more of the hippie defn. of how doing good/bad things brings good/bad fortune onto oneself.
