Well, I did it. I just laid down almost $1k for a bunch of plane tix that'll get me from California to London and back again. Over a bunch of adult bevys today, Robs somehow convinced me that my buying plane tickets asap was a good idea. Probably because I was being a bit wishy washy about London in the 1st place. Pretty much, the only way to guarantee that you're gonna go somewhere is to just buy the plane ticket. When you live hovering around the poverty line, buying plane tickets wipes out the majority of your budget. So you're gonna go. Someone once told me that the best way to get something done is to go ahead and do it. Ok, no one told me that. I read it in Alex Garland's novel, the Beach. But he's right. Many of us spend too much time thinking about doing stuff rather than using that time to do it. And we're not getting any younger. Not me, at least.

In light of what's going on, I've decided that my going to London is, indeed, my own choice. I'd be lying if I said that a small part of my decision didn't have to do with being blinded, but I gotta do what's best for me. In aggregate, I think hitting up Europe will be good for me. It always has been in the past. What also comes to mind is the old surf philosophy: If you don't go, you'll never know.
