What is it with mountain time? Has anyone else noticed? It's like a freakin' time warp. Perception of time is definetly screwy up here, and that's part of the charm. Weeks feel like months, and months fly by in weeks. Really. People you know for a week become your best friends. If they leave for a week, it's like they've been gone for a lifetime. It literally feels like a month ago I moved back up to Tahoe. When in fact it was over two months ago. When we get back to the mountains, we ask each other what we did in 'the off season' when the reality is that the off season is twice as long as the snow season. It feels like
Cat has been here forever, when she's been here only 2 months and we were on the outs for 1 of those. Mammoth and Kirkwood feel like weeks ago when they were last week. What the hell is happening? This is probably 1 reason why I keep coming back. The good times are so fleeting that I need another season to rebuild them. And then another...
Good luck to all our
Agents ripping it up in comps this weekend. Our newest Agents, Rob and Matt from Mammoth, are in town tearing up contests all over Tahoe. Aaron Lowe and I headed to Heavenly last night to film them, and they're up at Northstar right this second with a whole contingent of Agents for the slopestyle comp today. Sierra is tomorrow. Agent Shane Goodwin, also from Mammoth, is down at Bear for some comp as well. Snowboarding Saves Lives!
Here's a pic of my buddy Chris from
Ally's new iBook, rocking the AutoSnowCo. Ok, it's the not most exciting pic, but c'mon, cut me some slack here, yo. I can't be ON all the time.
