Just got back from yet another great Mammoth trip. It was kind of a last second thing surrounded by odd circumstances. A buddy of mine from San Diego called last week and said he was going up to catch the storm. That was weird since he hadn't snowboarded in 2 years. Sunday night, I found myself drinking at a bar in Truckee. That's way out of character for me because I don't really party or go out. It's just not me. A bunch of beers deep, Robyn and I decided to go to Mammoth. Robs and I pretty much never hang out, so that agreement was wacky. The next thing we know,
Cat is up in the mix and the 3 of us were piled into my truck, heading south. The first night there, all of us pretty much flew off the handle and were ruined for Tuesday. This ended up being ok because it was storming too hard to enjoy riding anyway. But today was good. Cat was charging the trees. Robs hit some jumps. Everyone ate it huge at least once. The Mammoth Agents Rob and Matt were laying waste to every jib. Riding with those guys is fun because it pushes me to get better. But sometimes they pull some crap that makes me wanna give up snowboarding and take up tennis or something. And they have good style, too.
Anyway, here's a pic of Robyn and myself during the 1st night in town. We're way off the handle here, but I think we both held it well. Geez, Mammoth rocks. Back in Tahoe now, though, waiting for this new storm to give up pow pow goodness. Snowboarding Saves Lives.
